1. How
many bux should you charge for tourneys?
50 – 100.
We charge 100 for specials and bigger tourneys and 200 for MegaBux
Specials only. It is up to you what
you want to charge for all other tournaments. Adding TDD and the
amount is up to the TD as this comes out of the TDs personal
account.
|
2.
What hours of the day do we need to run “regular games” (Reg No DN, Reg
A/G, Reg No Nils)?
The 12 p.m., 4 p.m., 8 p.m., and 10 p.m. – a list of specific games
can be played during all other time slots – see the copy and paste
rules page in TD Center for the lists.
|
3. How
long before your scheduled tourney is to start should you be in the
lobby?
TD should
be in the lobby 30 minutes prior to tourney
start time.
|
4.
When should Round 2, 3, 4 games be called?
As soon as
possible, but always start earlier rounds before starting the next.
For instance, do not start round 1 and 2 at the same time. Get round
1 going, and then start round 2 ASAP. Keep eye on standings and when
teams are able to play – please call them.
|
5. How
many minutes do teams have to make table before it flips?
Three (3) minutes to
make (two (2) minutes for quickies/odd hour) – always nice when possible to state 2nd
call – 1 min left. This isn’t always possible because you are busy
getting your other tables going. Usually good to put in lobby after
pairings the time you called them.
|
6. If
you are unable to run your scheduled tourney – what do you need to do?
If you
know enough in advance – move the tourney and close registration. If
someone has already joined, you have to delete the tourney. Then,
send email to td’s asking if someone could pick up the spot. Please also notify
the TD Manager. If it is about to start and you have to go –
please contact a HTD or Admin and ask for their help.
|
7. If
both players on one team are missing in action – how many minutes to they
have before they would FF the game?
5 minutes –
if one member shows up, they would have to get a sub as soon as
possible.
|
8.
When someone says brb on the table what should you do?
Put a timer on
the table, go by timestamp when player said brb and follow our
timer rules. BRB is 3 minutes per our League Rules.
|
9. With brb’s - how long do you wait before you get a sub and boot the person
that is on brb?
After two (2) minutes on a
brb – TD needs to try and get a sub to the table, if person is still not
back, have the player booted, and use a sub. TD is to boot player or state
at table to boot player. Play must resume within 3 minutes.
|
10. BRB on nils – How should you handle a brb on a nil?
Give the member a gentle reminder that brb’s on a nil should be
avoided. If suicide, ask to take the brb during the bid and only if
absolutely necessary. If brb’s continue during nils, warn the player
that they can be d/q, then if it continues d/q. Then, have a sub put
in to replace the d/q player.
|
11.
Scenario - RED team has one person that had some problem with lag & also
took a BRB during game. Timer is up – they are on hand 8, the RED
team is winning – what would you do?
You would
continue the game through hand 10. We would never call a game if the
team that has caused the delay is winning.
|
12.
Scenario - RED team has one person that had some problem with lag & also
took a BRB during game. Timer is up – they are on hand 8, the RED
team is losing – what would you do?
You would call
the game at the end of that hand. Let them know during hand.
|
13.
Scenario – Timer is up – Both teams have contributed to the slowness of
the game; they are on hand 8 – what would you do?
When calling a
game due to time which isn’t a specific teams fault – best to give them a
hands notice – so when 1 or 2 minutes left on timer – let them know that,
and state “next hand will be last hand due to time.”
|
14. You
are in need of a sub – who is able to sub and in what order should
available subs be used?
Always ask the
remaining player IF they want a sub. Ask who they want or if they want
you to ask in the lobby. Remind them, they have 3 minutes to get one in
place. We should not presume the player would want the same sub in the
next round if winning – ask the player who they want to sub and NOT
automatically include the same sub in the pairings. The TD should only
sit if no other league player is available and only sub until someone
becomes available. The following is the preferred order if several are
available and the player has not specified a certain player.
1.
League member who is either not in the tourney or out of tourney
2.
Someone who is on a bye, but does not play the winners of that table
3.
The TD would sub as last resort and only until a sub is available
Only time the
team would FF - is if the person left is refusing an available sub.
IF A MEMBER NOT IN TOUR
IS AVAILABLE TO SUB THE TD WOULD
ASK MEMBER WHO SIT THAT IS ON BYE TO STAND AFTER HAND
AND LET MEMBER NOT IN TOUR TO SUB.
|
15.
What criteria needs to be met for sub credits to be given to subs?
They need to play the entire game and win. All 1 vs 1 games will
have sub reports. The sub report is located on the front page. If
for some reason, it does not work, please send the following
information to the
subbies.foreverspades@yahoo.com email.
A. TD's League ID
B. Date and time of tour
C. Tour jump number
D. League ID of the sub
E. The round and league id for each player that they won against.
|
16.
Subs - you have a team that needs a sub, the person refuses the only sub
we have available – what would you do?
After 3 minutes – they would then FF the game. The TD should not sub
if they have refused an available sub.
|
17.
One player is having problems and has gotten booted 2 times, the next time
they are booted (3rd time) – what would you do?
After 3 boots in one game – they need to use a sub for the remainder
of that GAME – they can if their team wins, play the next round. In
other words, they can only be booted from their game 2 times after
the 3rd boot they cannot return to that game.
|
18.
During a game one member of the blue team tells his partner that he has a
crap hand or that he isn’t worried about cover on a nil hand, what should
you do?
This is table talk and a warning should be given -- PLEASE WATCH TABLE TALK – ANY TALK REGARDING
THE HAND IN PLAY IS CONSIDERED TABLE TALK. If it
happens a second time by same player that player needs to be dq'd
and boxed. The remaining player may get a sub to finish tourney.
If both team players are guilty of table talk then team is dq'd.
|
19.
During the game a member of the red team says we can’t win, waste of time
and it’s only on hand 6, the member just leaves, what should you do?
First – state in lobby that sub is needed; ask in lobby for the
person that left to come back to the table or they will be boxed. If
they have already left the lobby, attempt to IM them. If still unable
to reach them OR they refuse, then they will be boxed for one day.
Contact an Admin to put the box on for you.
|
20.
In a game the bidding starts and player one bids, player two misbids,
player three and four have not yet bid, what should you do?
TD will
need to verify who misbid. The player or the partner of the
player of misbid will need to click the Renege Button which will
assess the misbid and then will go to next hand.
|
21.
You have a non league member come to tables and keep kibitzing – what
should you do?
When
someone comes to a table on SHG it states they are kibitzing, TDs
need to make sure the eyes are not showing on the sunglasses and
that they remain closed throughout the game.
|
22.
You have a member who is being continually rude to their partner, what
should you do?
The majority of the time you need to warn them at the table for poor
sportsmanship – if they continue, you can box them. An Admin can
assist you. They would then be dq’d and you would get a sub for the
game to continue. At times, if it is something minor, might not hurt
to say, please do not question your player at the table during the
game. Now if it is someone that you know has been warned in the past,
you can box – warnings are preferable but not required. Make sure you
get screen shots or chat log of what they are being boxed on. Anytime you have
problems at a table, don’t hesitate to have an admin/htd come to the
table to assist.
|
23.
Do you have to use SafeHarbor Friends List Messenger?
Yes, all TDs should use messenger. When we add someone, it
doesn't automatically add us to that person's messenger.
|
24.
Can a tour be held up if the previous tour is running over?
Under NO circumstances should one tour be held up due to the previous
tour. Tourneys should start as soon as autos are even and no later
than 10 minutes after the designated start time.
|
25.
When can a TD enter the next tournament?
This is the same for the TD as it is for members....once the finals
pairing is announced in the lobby then all can join next tourney.
|
26.
When are open slots available?
Any open tourney slots are available for anyone to make a tour ONLY
if it's within 48 hours of the current day and time. Example: If
it's Monday at 8 pm then they may take any empty time slot until
Wednesday at 8 pm....48 hours.
|
27.
What is the best way to advertise a tour?
To be
in lobby 30 minutes prior to start time of tourney and to be putting
tour link, jump, and information in lobby and assisting members in
getting into tour. We have always been a NO SPAM LEAGUE. At
start time you still need more players you may pm members asking
them to join tour or to send a spam. Please be sure to keep list of
our members current on your messenger.
|
28.
What happens if the wrong winners are posted for a tour?
Correction of wrong winners posted: Every td, new and old, will
eventually mis-post the winners. In this case, Cases must be
contacted to make the correction and adjust the bux. All tds should
know how to do this. Log into the tourney menu and down near the
bottom is a link "Tourney Support” fill out the email with all the
details of the tour and action requested of Cases. If you need help
with how to do this, contact an admin. Also please inform the TD
Manager and Head
Admin of any corrections requested of Cases. Make sure to also send a
report of this to the sub report email (subbies.foreverspades@yahoo.com)
so the stats of the members can be adjusted.
|
29.
What do you do when you are closing out your tour and you get a message
that some matches were not reported to the ladder?
This usually happens when a member has withdrawn from the league in
the middle of a tour....It is very important for the TD to wait for
the Reporting Matches screen to show to check these to be sure they
are reported.
|
30.
What is the best way to avoid conflict in the lobby?
This is tough, but if they are just venting or making a point, you
can usually talk to the upset member in private asap. Reprimanding
them in the lobby only adds to their frustration. Try to listen
without talking down to them. Most just want to be heard, and an
explanation of the TDs side sometimes clears it up. When we have to
box a member, it is a bad reflection on our league. Not only have we
boxed someone, we have most likely upset other members who are their
friends. If they are cussing and acting horrible, warn them
immediately, then try talking to them. If they continue, contact an
admin for assistance.
