- Melt 32 caramels with 5 Tbsp cream in a double boiler. (I use a
small metal mixing bowl and place in a pan of water over the stove).
- Mix flour, oatmeal, baking powder, salt, brown sugar and butter
together.
- Place ½ of this mixture in the bottom
of a 9x13 pan patting down firmly to form a nice base. Bake at
350° for 10 minutes.
- Cover with 6 oz chocolate chips then
sprinkle crushed nuts.
- Pour melted caramels over and sprinkle
remaining mixture.
- Bake 350° for 15-20 minutes. Cut
into desired size bars.
