Jalapeno Poppers

Serves / Makes:   30
 
Ingredients
  • 30 jalapenos
  • 1 lb sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 2 blocks cream cheese
  • ¼ cup Tony Chachere's Louisiana spiced salt
  • 30 strips of sliced bacon
 
Preparation
  • With a sharp knife cut the tops off the peppers and with a potato peeler scoop out all seeds and veins, if even one seed remains your mouth will know it!  Place peppers aside.
  • Mix the cheese, cream cheese and seasoning salt together.
  • Pour this into a bakers bag or a cookie press and fill the jalapenos
  • Take the bacon, one slice at a time, and cut about 1/3 off and place it over the open end of a pepper, wrap the remainder of the slice of bacon around the pepper, making sure to cover the ends of the piece over the top, secure with a toothpick.
  • Place the peppers into a cake pan
  • Bake at 350° about 45 minutes.
  • Transfer to another pan to drain.
