First tour was hosted on March 23, 2003 by Roger aka ohiomp and 9 years later has 514 members and in February 2012 hosted 361 tours with 10063 matches and 665 victories with 71 new members. I surprised Jan with an interview to ask a few questions about Foreverspades. I asked her if she regretted creating Foreverspades as we all know its a lot of hard work and dedication and lots of time.... her reply was "hell no".
I asked Jan how she came up with 'Foreverspades'....her reply was "lol.......I tried for "spadesforever" but it didn't go thru...not sure if there was another league or not...so I did foreverspades"
My last question to Jan was do you have any regrets? Her reply was "one thing I do regret...that's not journaling from day one. I so wish I had started a journal." So guess we will never have a book published :) but we have lots of great memories in Foreverspades and lots more to come. Foreverspades is a great league and hope to hundreds and I personally thank Jan for giving us that and sharing her interview with us.
This month we are featuring Jan so everyone can get to know our HA better and see what a wonderful lady she is :) I asked Jan to tell me about her home life and a little more about creating Foreverspades. Jan quoted "I'm married and Ken and I will celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary in June. We have 3 grown children, one daughter and two sons and one granddaughter 6 1/2 years old and one step granddaughter 11 1/2 years old.
I've lived in Minnesota all my life and have visited many states from California
to Alaska and Florida and there's no place I would rather live! I like the very
distinct change in seasons and I think my favorite season is Fall...except that
Winter follows which is my least favorite. I love to knit, crochet, read and
spend time with the grandgirls! I hate shopping and cooking and I thank the Lord
Ken enjoys cooking much more than me! I am truly blessed in my personal life!!!
I credit the fantastic staff I've had over the years for the success of the
league and we have really terrific members that complete the picture. We've been
the #1 Cases Yahoo Spades league for several years now...on occasion we've
slipped into the #2 spot but we always get back in a short time. I am not sure
on this but I think that as Head Admin from day one of ForeverSpades and still
Head Admin we just might be the only league that can claim this milestone.
I created ForeverSpades because I was in two other leagues and I saw so much
ladder manipulation that I was so disgusted I decided to create my own. So on
Sunday, March 16, 2003 I did just that. Silly me waited almost an entire week
before I mentioned it to a friend of mine. Once I told her she replied with
"well, let's get this going" and the first thing she and I did was play a league
game and since it was just her and I at that moment we played a league games
with bots, I won. She reported that league game and I was #1...........I've
never been in the #1 spot since!! ....we soon had a few more join us and on
Sunday, March 23, 2003 we held our first tournament. The rest is history!

wonderful HA!!
On March 11 Time changes so dont forget your clocks or you will miss the tours!
