My name is Doug and I was born and lived almost all my life in a small town in northern Ontario, Canada.  Once I completed college then Laurentian University I went on to teach elementary school for 34 years.  My wife, Heather also taught the same number of years and for the most part at the same school.  We have three children, Mathew 30, Blake 24 and Katie 18.

We enjoy and spend much of our summertime at our cottage yet I somehow find time to hunt and fish and golf.

Since we have retired I drive as a volunteer for our local Cancer Society and have joined our local Lions Club because it does so much good in our Community.

For instance, I worked last night at a hospital fund raiser as a bartender and had a hoot and of course donated as well.

I like to four wheel and we used to skidoo but prefer now to travel to Myrtle Beach or in this year it will be Panama City Beach, Florida .  We are going there for January and February.

Another spades playing member invited me to join forevers and I have enjoyed every moment because the people there make it so so great.
