Maynard got his screen ID from his real name, Raymand, by rearranging the letters. He is the father of 4 children and divorced in 1986. He remarried on May 1st, 1993 to Patty Moon atop the Jolly Giant Ferris Wheel, 72 feet in the air. They live on a 1600 acre farm in Pink Hill, NC.

He retired in 1998 from Jolly Shows Carnival of Annapolis, Maryland after 36 years. He was the head mechanic for the carnival. He collects "HO" trains and Carnival Ride Models.

He has always been a clown and loves to keep people laughing. He is a diabetic and requires insulin twice daily and his eyesight is failing which explains his use of capital letters in the lobby.

He has played spades all his life. He loves Mexican food, the hotter the better, and he says "I burp a lot".
